IATA
The International Air Transport
Association is one of the chief trade organisation of
airlines. Its headquarters are in Montreal, Canada.
Through this body, airlines have been granted a special
exemption to consult on prices, leading to accusations
of a cartel. Many low cost airlines are not full IATA
members.
IATA assigns 3-letter Airport Codes and 2-letter Airline
Designators, which are commonly used in booking and ticketing
systems worldwide. |
